Despite wearing divers watches for 35+ years, nobody makes my ideal divers watch of today!
Which would be an automatic(self-winding) , mechanical day/date display, and with battery for illumination/indiglo.
That way I'd probably get 5-10 years between battery changes and have the advantage of
being able to tell the time in movie theatres, 3AM in bed, etc. That would be perfect but it doesnt exist. Have been using G-shocks for many years and between frequent battery failures(best to buy a new watch), watch band failure(best to buy a new watch), and just sometimes the internal computer going screwy;I even tried the ones with a 10 year battery and they were no better. I figured lately I have been buying a new one or repairing my watch(batteries/bands) about every 12-18+ months and it was just high time for a change.
I miss the rotating bezel type of watches and these cheaper electric rotating bezel dive watches have some disavantages over more expensive ones. However, as a surprise on this one it has a flat crystal that is flush with the bezel, making it less likely to scratch over others that have a raised or domed crystal. The Timex indiglo feature is just adequate on this watch but is somewhat counterbalanced by a great quality application/selection of glow in the dark paint that they use. This will grow brightly in the dark well into the night hours. I find the date display adequate. No day display! A noted negative is that the O zero marker on the rotating bezel is a bit ambiguous and not marked by a big distinguishing arrow like most watches. This band has a little stub on the end of the dangling end that fits into the rubber wraparound. Keeps the dangling end secure. The orange face display is a bit out of the ordinary, but I find it at least fleetingly attractive at the moment.Excellent value for the $$. Best divers band on a watch. Once the band goes on the watch I probably wont like it anymore...I called Timex and ordered 2 original replacement bands.
